Scott Lehecka brings 25 plus years of balanced experience to his practice in environmental law and related litigation.

Scott was with Hanna and Morton from 1999 to 2004 and has recently rejoined the firm after spending 2004 through 2006 as in-house environmental counsel at General Electric, supporting the investigation and clean-up of over fifty remediation sites throughout the Northeast and Midwestern U.S. Before joining Hanna and Morton in 1999, Scott spent nine years as in-house environmental counsel for Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO), advising the company on environmental compliance, litigation, and transactional matters.

Before that, he spent six years as a civil trial lawyer for the Texas Attorney General’s Office, Environmental Protection Division, specializing in environmental enforcement and regulatory matters. He was also formerly associated with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he represented a variety of large and small companies and individuals.

Scott has handled numerous Superfund and other contaminated real estate matters, with all of the related disputes, including remedy selection, cost recovery, and litigation claims for property damage and personal injuries.

Scott has prosecuted and defended numerous government enforcement actions, both civil and criminal. He also has extensive experience in administrative law, including advocacy before administrative agencies, and court actions to overturn agency decisions.
