Larry G. Gutterridge has broad experience in environmental law. Before joining Hanna and Morton in 1999, he headed the Los Angeles Environmental Group of Sidley & Austin; was an environmental counsel at ARCO; served as an appellate attorney with the United States Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, and worked in the White House as Assistant to the Special Counsel to the President. Larry has handled numerous regulatory matters involving federal, state and local environmental laws and agencies, conducted major Superfund site settlement negotiations with the United States EPA and related litigation, and was involved in the enactment and reauthorization of Superfund. His related expertise includes natural resource damages and “Brownfields.” Since its enactment in 1986, Larry has advised numerous clients concerning compliance with California Proposition 65 and defended litigation involving such compliance. He has also defended significant environmental criminal charges.
